Bulldog
The Bulldog is a medium-sized, muscular dog with a wrinkled face and pushed-in nose that has become one of the most recognizable breeds worldwide. Despite their tough appearance, Bulldogs are gentle, dignified companions. They are dependable and predictable, making them wonderful family pets.
History & Origins
Bulldogs were originally bred in England in the 13th century for bull-baiting, a cruel sport outlawed in 1835. After the ban, breeders worked to remove aggression while preserving the breed, transforming them into gentle companions. The American Kennel Club recognized the breed in 1886.
